Christians? Question about Salvation for people in foreign countries?

To all you Christians out there (except LDS), the bible says that you must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved, and that if you don't, you'll be damned (correct me if I'm wrong). This being said, what happens to all those people in foreign countries, like in Africa, or little babies, that die and never have the opportunity to hear about or believe in Jesus Christ and the Gospel?

Why would a loving God send all those people to earth in a place where they'd never get the chance to learn of the Gospel, ultimately damning millions of souls?

(and before I get this comment, no I'm not trying to disprove Christianity, I'm simply curious)

This a very excellent and challenging question. As a Christian, I've also wondered the same. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure(although I tend to be wrong quite occasionally) if there really are any verses in the Bible that directly address this matter. So to tell you the truth, I have no answer. However, knowing how God is perfectly just and merciful, I trust that he will handle things just fine, and everything will turn out fair in the end. I will not even attempt to explain how.

However, since I am not ignorant of the existence of Christianity, and in fact believe in Jesus' resurrection as a Christian, knowing or not knowing the truth behind your question will not affect me or my walk with God. So again, very nice question, and I look forward to seeing other's answers.

Jesus does not condemn babies. Babies don't the chance to learn all of our bad things. The ones that are condemned are the ones who hear about God and refuse Him. The Bible says everyone will get a chance to hear about Jesus. Then they have a choice to make. No it isn't simply they all go to Hell. That is the reason God calls on people to go witness to others.

All those people you talk about (the non-Christians) believe that all the Christians cannot be saved, because they don't believe in the true god (Allah, etc)

Therefore, see you ALL in hell, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc

Accept it, there is no Hell. There is no reward, or indeed punishment, awaiting you when you die. In fact, I wrote a verse a few months back, in answer to a question here on Answers. Goes like this:

'Aint no heaven, 'aint no hell

Both were invented so religion would sell

Live while alive, you're dead when you die

There 'aint no 'hereafter', it's just a big lie

Give aid to your neighbour, and hope he aids you

Be good to your fellows, that's all you can do

That way you may get some heaven on earth

To help ease this hell that we go through from birth.

If you had no chace to know jesus then you are judged by you actions alone. I think the bible even covers this in the book of Romans when paul discusses this exact issue.

Bbabies who die go to the same place that god sent all the babies he drowned in the great flood. Heaven I assume.

I'm not a christian so don't hold this belief myself. I would argue that many africans are already living in Hell in this world so don't need anymore punishment

Foreign countries? There are Bible translations in over 100 languages and missionaries throughout the whole world. There are places though where Christians are very persecuted and Christianity is very restricted by the government. There are also many that ridicule the witness of Christians even in the USA. A loving God sent His son. A evil people restrict the truth. You put the blame where ever you want.

Jesus said that the gospel would be preached to every nation, and then the end will come. Now about little babies, all I can say is that God is just and he won't let a baby who died go to hell.

People who say that are wrong. When Jesus said I am the way truth and the light, he meant his love, not to use his name Jesus like it was abracadabra or a magical incantation. People who love will have salvation, even the ones who never heard of Jesus' name.

The best thing about religions is that you're able to adjust the result to your belief .

If you want all those people that you mentioned saved - - - okay they're saved . Nobody can prove that they are not . Wasn't that easy ?
