dial up modems?

can you use 2 dial up modems to connect 2 computers through a regular telephone line. i would like to be able to shere an internet connection or something.

i dont have dial up but i have an old laptop that has a modem that i just want to try this with.

LISTEN! i want to do this just for the sake of doing it. i know about wireless routers and wireless cards. i have a usb wireless card but i just want to do this. i dont need crap from you telling me this is outdated.

    Using using two modems would enable your two computers to connect to the internet. Also, connecting your computers together can work, though it would make your connection to the internet far more slower than it already is with your dial up

    Yes, you can do this, but this method is too out of date to be worth bothering with.

    You can easily share an Internet connection between two or more machines using a Wireless router, so there is no point connecting up via modem, unless you have got a vintage computer such as an Amiga. If you are in the "Vintage" computer category, I would join a Yahoo group for users of old computers. Connecting two old computers via modem is not difficult.

    swap out the modem for a wireless card and go
