What free agent should the Sharks go after this offseason?
The Sharks need to change a piece or two in the off season. What unrestricted free agent should they go after? Not including the players on their team. I'm saying they should try to get Vrbata from the Coyotes. He is young, can pass, and find the back of the net! Playing with the Sharks would bring his game up! Think it would be a great match. Also we need a new goon! Any Ideas? Bring Parker back?

I heard that the San Jose Sharks were going to try to keep the team that they have now for a while because they apparently believe that they are getting chemistry with each other and they are starting to play like a team and are playing better hockey overall. If they are going for a defenseman in this year's off-season, I can see them going after Wade Redden and if they are looking for a forward, I have to agree with you. Radim Vrbata seems like a great choice.

Campbell... and if he gets away I think they'll look to sign Redden. I also feel they should look for new chemistry by moving Marleau and perhaps even Cheechoo. Marleau has been the consumate professional his entire career, but it's pretty apparent that the Sharks are not going to get over the hump with the current group of players.
As far as what they're saying about staying together... that was Roenick speaking, and he's technically not even part of the team right now. They're pretty much kept the team together the last 3 seasons and look what that's gotten them.
Wilson and his staff will be dumped... it's just a matter of when. They'll bring in a coach who has a proven track record, look to resign Soupy, see what their trade options are with Marleau.
As a Anaheim fan, I'd love for this Sharks team to stay together. No proven winners and a growing history of underperforming in the clutch. But as a hockey fan, I'd like to see them succeed and to do that they're going to need to make some changes.

The entire Rangers defensive corps. If the Sharks take all Rangers defencemen, with the exception of Fedor Tyutin, Dan Girardi, and Marc Staal, then they would give the Rangers the cap room to go out and look for much better defensive players and then they'll be able to contend with the elite teams in the Eastern Conference. So let them take Michal Rozsival, Paul Mara, Christian Backman, Marek Malik, and Jason Strudwick. Getting rid of those guys would free up over $10million to look for other/better defencemen.

okay. i agree with you on vrbata, but i'm mostly answering this question because i'm hoping there will be an epic trade with joe thorton being sent over to the leafs, for some of our players. you think there's a chance of the happening?
