Can you run for Vice President?

There's a common saying that nobody runs for Vice President; but could you actually campaign for VP instead of President? Any idea how it would work?

(If you have definite sources, please provide a link or reference. But it's fine to speculate wildly too...)

yes you can. check out the filing process in New Hampshire...I'm sure it varies from state to state so check it out on your state's board of elections website.

Used to be that the candidate with the second most number of votes became VP. I'd have to look it up to tell you which amendment but it is called the lame duck amendment.

But for questions like that I suggest that you read the Constitution it is not long and is easy reading.
