What kind of RAM for Dell Inspiron B130?
I would like to purchase additional RAM for my computer, but I am not sure what to buy. I have a Dell Inspiron B130. Also, is it safe to order it online? Any recommendations for where to shop online that is both reliable and not too expensive?

Two More, Both Kingston and Crucial are considered Good Options for memory Purchase. Good Details on what and how to buy memory for your system.
Kingston URL: http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/m...

If you still have the User's Manuals that came with your PC you will find the information you need there. Otherwise go to the Web site, in the search box enter your Dell model number and find the maximum memory capacity for your model.
Go to Control Panel>Performance & Maintence>System to find out how much memory your PC currently has.
Search on-line for the best price but don't buy yet. Find someone that has done this before and arrange to have them show you how do it (it doesn't look easy but it really is). Contact the technology department at your local high school. They always have students eger to show off their skills but make sure they know you want them to guide you step-by-step.
Then order the memory online or buy it locally and get the help.
You can do it!!

okay,
1) you look hot ;)
2) go to the dell website and look for that computer and see the memory (ram) copacity.
3) yes it is safe to order online.
stick to well known sites like
-www.newegg.com
-ebay.com
3) if your not sure how to install the ram take your computer tower down to the local computer shop and they can just tell you which type you need, how much more you can have if you can have anymore and then put it in for you.
although they'relikely to charge a service fee.
but if your not a pc pro then its better to be sade rather than sorry.
good luck!

Your latptop takes 200 pin DDR2 SO-DIMM. As for an online store, I always buy from newegg.com, nearly all the parts in my self-built desktop are from there. They are reliable and don't over charge. Here is a list of sticks of RAM that should work for you.

You may be able to find it cheaper on eBay, but I personally never buy a computer part on eBay that is not listed as new or refurbished. Used ones most often don't work.
