Scared toddlers?

I have two small boys who share a bedroom. Ages 2 and 4. They often wake up crying at night for no reason. I ask them what is wrong and they just cry and after 10 mins of consoling they usally go back to sleep. It is never both of them the same night, the younger one does it more. Any suggestions on what is causing this and ways I can prevent it?

They could be having night terrors. A cousin of mine experiences it. Children wake up in the night, usually half-asleep, thinking that they see scary images or people. They can't control this; it's just their subconscious mind telling them these things. I used to have them when I was younger, too. Especially when you say that you talk to them and they don't respond--that tells me that they are probably having night terrors. They will grow out of it eventually. In the meantime, what needs to happen when they start crying is that they need to be woken up. Since they are not really conscious, they can't understand that you are consoling them. Turn on a light, shake them gently until they wake up. Give them a hug and look sympathetic, and say, "You were just having a bad dream. Time for sleep." Give them another hug and a kiss, turn out the light, and leave. Keep doing this every time, and they will grow out of it.

ok human beings. Cockroaches take place. not anyone lives able the place an exterminator can eliminate them. we live precise next to the woods and have a confusing time conserving rid of them ourselves. additionally, people who stay in residence homes would have issues. in basic terms through fact she observed a cockroach does not recommend the home is filthy! As for the terror, you won't be waiting to get her previous it. some human beings have worry of issues that to others look irrational. the only way I have been given certainly one of my young ones previous the terror of moths grew to become into to hold one and coach him. Now he catches moths from the returned deck invariably. although, you probable do not desire your toddler twiddling with the roaches. ;) i think of you're doing precise to hold her and reassure her. we don't desire our babies to have fears, yet having some worry is wholesome. you won't desire her to stroll as much as and %. up a snake that would desire to be poisonous. perhaps you're able to help her extra with how she reacts to that worry. stable success!

Probably just bad dreams. It's normal, don't worry. Just keep consoling them, it's comforting to them to know you're there.
