Sister, I checked your profile before answering this question. At fifteen, things often appear very dramatic. It appears that you like a boy who is not responding. That can be very traumatic. Since you don't say with what you are struggling, I don't know exactly how to guide you.

However, I can tell you without any doubt that God loves you. If you ever doubt how much he loves you, look at the cross and remember what he suffered for you.

Every age has its struggles. However, I have found that God never closes a door unless he opens a new one. We often miss the new one as we are still looking at and longing for the old one.

At 15, boy and girl problems are heart breaking. Yet somehow God seems to get us through them. He doesn't always do it "our" way. He is looking for our good.

As a father, my daughter has gone through heartbreak a few times. She didn't always have the perspective that I did. She liked a guy and couldn't always see the flaws. However, I was looking for her. I didn't want her hurt and I wanted her to be in a strong healthy relationship.

I think that God is like that. He knows what is best for us and sometimes even though we want to take a lesser road, he continues to support the best road.

Jeremiah tells us something about God: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,...plans to give you hope and a future...You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:11,13

God has wonderful plans for you. He does love you very much. Even if you decide to give up on Him, I promise you he will never give up on you! :-)

Trust him sister. I have gone through many struggles in life. Many of them were painful and scarring. Sometimes I wondered if God was there or if he cared. Yet in the end I have always found God there working for my good.

Email me if you need to talk. Remember, seek him with all your heart and you will find him. Believe me, God is there and very real.

    Pastor John

Edit: Sister, there are five atheists on this forum for which I have respect. None of them has answered this question. Please ignore the atheist fundamentalists who have answered. They consider it their job to swoop in on a hurting and suck the faith out of them.

I feel the same way, but i mean some god gas to exist somewhere, even if were the result of the big bang something had to cause the big bang. With a lot of problems in my life I pray if only to hope god is listening, which ever go it is. I really doubt any of our religions are spot on, and i doubt god wanted to tell us how to run our lives. So i just do my best to be a good person and hope thats going to be enough when i die. Hopefully theres some variation of heaven I'd hate to think life was it, but it may well be so live life to the fullest and do your best to help others do the same.

Well, I sorta always read the other responses and choose how to respond. I saw tons of answers saying God is not real and a few that say he is and even more that say forget about him and take control yourself. Well, from my own personal experiences, don't give up on God because he has never given up on you. You may not see him right now and that seems to happen a lot to many people. He is always there and will never stop trying to bring you back to him. It is your choice, you can listen to the enemy or you can turn back to God. Run after him, he is there.

Well, not much more I can say it is your choice. I will pray for you and God willing you will return to him.

    In Christ,

    Melanie

If you have any questions email me....mixygirl05@yahoo.com

PS: It is always encouraging to see how God is moving in other peoples lives, and well I have a good friend that is a new Christian and well she struggled a lot until this past sunday before service she found a cross she was looking for, that had been missing for years, and at service your youth pastor was preaching and his verison of service is interative so he asked people to stand up and talk. Now this friend is terrified of speaking in public and she felt nudged to talk, and she did, and she spoke with no problems and honestly basically in a night she was transformed. I do hope you will let God transform your life. God Bless.

I'm not gonna go thru a tirade on all the scripture verses you should read, but I am gonna share a few truths with you.

    GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU!!!!

Never never no never, If you are a believer in God thrugh the gift and sacrafice of His Son Jesus Christ, then There is nothing that can separate you from the LOVE OF GOD THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS. Nothing. He promises that if we draw close to Him, that He will draw close to us.

Now the bible tells us the Gods Spirit will not always strive with man, and I can attest to this truth, if you have some sin in your life. For example God seems distant and you believe He is leaving you then you are harboring a spirit of unblief, then just rebuke that spirit in Jesus name and run to the Father. But what you will find as you run to Him, He will be running to you all the more.

I believe you are not telling us the whole story, your question is designrd to illicit an answer that will make you feel less guity for turning you back on Him, when He is calling to you.

Read about the great ones, Moses, Joseph, Daniel, Elijah, Jeremiah, Habakuk, Ezekiel these me all had times in thier lives when they felt that God had left them, But the encouragement of the Word of God for these men is true, He was there all the time and He proved it to them.

In the last two years I have struggled with depression, and I still have it at times, but I will not stop from trusting Him, Jobe said "though He slay me, I will still bless The Name of the Lord".

What ever you are going thru, take heart, and realize God is there always, sometimes He is in your face and sometimes not, but He is always there, Call to Him, Hold His Word up to Him and wait on the Lord, if you do He will renew you, give you increase so that you may walk in this dismal place we have made His creation, and in that walk we can experience His peace no matter where we are.

It's hard to climb the mountian, when you are at the bottom looking up na d truely the time spent on top of the moutian is short, but that is life, for here and now, just remember He walks with us. Both in the high places and the low places He is there. You simply must ask Him to reveal Himself to you in the name of Jesus, and He will, in His timing, He will...

This is my prayer for you, that God would reveal Himself to you as soon as possible, and ask Him to forgive you for your unbelief....and don't worry He Loves you so very much.

    Blessings on you

    in Jesus Name

    all 4 now B

Don't give up on him! He has never and will never leave you! If you're going through a rough time, it's not because God has left you!

    D&C 101: 4-5, 41

4 Therefore, they must needs be chastened and tried, even as Abraham, who was commanded to offer up his only son.

5 For all those who will not endure chastening, but deny me, cannot be sanctified.

    Heb. 12: 5, 11

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

    • • •

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Work through your hard time! No matter how hard it is, you can work through it! God helps those that helps themselves! Continue to turn to God! He will never EVER desert you!

    Job 5: 17

17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

God will NEVER ever, ever give up on you.

    He loves you too much!

I know how you feel. I've given up on him several times myself... but do you know what happened? He found me back!

Do you remember the parable of the lost sheep? The good shepherd left his herd to go looking for the lost sheep. He will look for it until it is found. The shepherd never gave up even though it took him a while to find the sheep.

And the "Footprints" story... I think you should read it, if you don't already have done so:

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed

he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.

For each scene he noticed two sets of

footprints in the sand: one belonging

to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,

he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of

his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very

lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he

    questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow

you, you'd walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most

    troublesome times in my life,

there is only one set of footprints.

    I don't understand why when

I needed you most you would leave me."

    The LORD replied:

    "My son, my precious child,

I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering,

when you see only one set of footprints,

it was then that I carried you."

Also, please remember this passage: "Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; seek His will in all you do and He will direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6

It's about persevering through this hard life and praising God at the same time. You're not alone. Hang in there!

    God bless you.

Jesus promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us. He said "I will be with you always, even until the end of the world." If you base your faith on how you feel then you will become cold in your faith. Trust in God is built on His promises not on how we feel at any given moment. Jesus did not promise us an easy life, He promised to walk through life with us. Take heart and know that the God who loves you is with you. My I suggest that as you pray keep a prayer journal, for your eyes only. I have found by doing so I see where over time God has worked in my life. Many folks expect God to take their life and turn it upside down, which He can, but most times God moves gently changing the circumstances. Keep your eyes set on the prize set before you and run the good fight of faith. God bless and remember God loves you.

God gives hardships to all his creatures. He does so to test them. Every second that passes in your life, is always a test. The key is to be patient in them, no matter how much hard or difficult they might be. I know that the more hardships God gives to one of His slaves, He's decreasing that slave's difficulty on the Day of Judgement, you just only need to be patient. God also gives more hardships to certain people because He loves them.

My thought is you should stay on whatever religion you are on and not turn to anything else like Atheism. It's your choice to make, but remember what I said.

Are you still alive? Are you still making it through this crazy game called life? Yes.. you are! So...how can you say God has given up on you. God gives us all more than we can handle at times.... sometimes it seems like he gives us more than we can handle most of the time... but we make it... we keep going...

Things are tough and you are reaching out for help. That's good. Maybe one of the answers you get here will help you through a tough day or week. Knowing that people are "listening" to you and take the time to respond should let you know that people do care and are taking the time and effort to reach back to you.

The last two years of my life have been hell... my mother died in my house...had to struggle to hold on to my job... divorcing my husband... in more debt than I make in a year... and had health problems... some days are better than others... some days are black as night... but I know I'll get up in the morning and keep on keeping on.

I hope you can find the strength to keep on, too.

Don't give up on God, I promise you he hasn't given up on you. Everyone in this life faces difficulties, challenges, stresses, and events totally out of our control. Just because we believe in God, doesn't mean everything is going to be fixed right away. There was a book that was written called going through the fire. God allows us to go through hard times, not to push us away, but to draw us closer. Sometimes it's seems like the fire is so hot, that you can't see God, but he's there. God hasn't given up on you and never will. Note to all the athiests out there: Just because you say there isn't a God, it doesn't mean he doesn't exist. And although you might say God gave up on you, and that's why you're an athiest, I can promise you, He never gave up on you, and never will.

God loves, and cares for everyone. During this hard time you're going through, just keep praying to God. It may seem like he's not listening, but he is. It may seem like he's not there, but he is. He's allowing you to go through this time, so he can mold you more into the person he wants you to be. So don't give up. Keep holding on. God will see you through.
