OMG this has happened to me.. I became pregnant while I was on the Depo shot.. the doctor told me that I was allergic to an ingredient in the shot which prohibited it from working correctly... if u are looking to take the dr. to court.. NO CAN DO... the shot is not 100% effective.... but also the dr. told me that the reason that I miscarried is because the medicine fights to prevent u from becoming pregnant and since I became pregnant with the medicine still in my system I had a fetus fighting the medicine in order to grow and develop and the medicine would not allow it ... therefore I miscarried... (these are in my words... the dr. explained it better)

unfortunately that is a possibility. The doctor should have given her a pregnancy test before giving the shot. Its been my experience that anytime you get any type of birth control a test comes first. However, several things could have caused the miscarriage.

    The shot being Depo Provera?

Probably not, as the Depo Shot is Progesterone, you body produces this hormone in early pregnancy to maintain the viability of it anyways.
