38 weeks pregnant..urge to push?
I am currently 38 weeks pregnant, I am scheduled for a c-section on Monday, I just have a few quick questions. My next doctor's appt is tomorrow so I am going to ask him as well, but just thought I'd get some thoughts.
1. When I go to the bathroom, even just to urinate I feel this urge to push, almost like the dry heaves, if that makes sense. I've never felt that before and I don't think I am anywhere near labor, at my last appointment I wasn't dilated or anything. I know the baby is low I can feel her practically on my cervix, if that makes sense, I am very uncomfortable and if I sit at my desk at work she moves and I have to stand.
2. Sometimes I have a weird discharge, its sort of like gooey, but it has a greenish tint to it, could this be parts of the mucus plug? I know you can lose it bit by bit.
I had more but I don't have enough room, thanks in advanced

That 'urge' you're feeling is just the baby being very very low, as you described it. You'll definitely notice the REAL urge to push when you're almost or fully dilated. It feels like you have to take the biggest poop of your life and you'll die if you don't. LOL. Seriously.
The discharge is normal discharge. Vaginal discharge can have a yellowish or even greenish tint to it and not be problematic.

When I was ready to push.....this is awful but it felt like i had to poop worse than i had ever had to in my life! But that was when i was already in labor and fully dilated. The feeling your talking about sounds like you are having mini-contractions and starting to dilate. You may even just be feeling the pressure of the baby getting into position. But it does sound like you are losing your plug.

I would let you doctor know about the urge to push. I never had that till it was time and I have had 3 kids. maybe you have dilated since last week.

Sounds like labor, you can go from not being dilated to 10cm in no time. And yes that sounds like the mucus plug, it's kind of sticky and gooey, like snot, gross I know.

Call your OB!
If you have a c-section scheduled because your baby wasn't in position or because of another medical reason, it could be dangerous to your health to deliver naturally.

yes, that is the mucus plug. when was your last appt? maybe you have dialated and effaced. do you know if your water has broke? maybe call the doc office if you think this is serious they can get you in earlier.

well, you should know not to push with that urge ,which I am sure you do.
with your second question, it definetly sounds like you lost some of your mucus plug.

I would call your doctor and let them know what you are experiencing...You can go from nothing to 10cm very quickly..and it def sounds like you are losing your mucos plug!!
