i am 37 week s pregnant with my second child, have never experienced labor, but have been having pain in my?
upper thigh/groin area. My daughter was a breech baby so i had a scheduled c-section, and never felt any contractions or labor pains. my stomachis a lot bigger this pregnancy, and a lot more active, i dont think hes dropped yet, but ive recently been having a sharp weird pulling pain in my one leg right near my groin. it started a few days ago, and has been getting more frequent and more uncomfortable, today has been at the point where i have to stop what i am doing and brace myself until it stops. is this labor, is itthe baby dropping, or just general pregnancy discomfort? i live about anhour from the hospital, and am a scheduled c-section, so im a little bit nervous, i dont know what labor is like, so i dont want to leave for the hospital to late. im also very good at second-guessing pain when i feel it, i always assume, "oh, it hurts, but its probably not labor, labor would hurt worse" or whatnot. so...any input would be appreciated. thanks.

I would say either baby laying on a nerve or braxton hicks. Contractions can sometimes be felt in the lower back but usually in the tummy area and your bump will harden with each contraction - it's quite an obvious pain and I think you would know. Time the pains and if regular then call the midwife xxxx Good luck xxx

It's hard to say. Labor pains feel different to different people. It could be an early sign. With a second baby, you are unlikely to drop until a few hours before you go into labor. I imagine that with a previous c section you don't want to have contractions at all. I would call your doctor and tell her your symptoms.

Doesn't sound like labor to me. Labor was more like sharp gas pains. Everyone has a different experience though and if it doesn't stop you might want to go in just to be sure. Also, look up braxton hicks to make sure that isn't what you are experiencing which is more of a pre labor.

It sounds like pain due to the weight of the baby and baby moving down. If you are really worried then give your doctor or the labor and delivery unit at the hospital a call and see what they want you to do. Good Luck and God Bless!

personally i think it sounds like just general strain from the weight of the baby on your groin/top of the thigh (I get a sort of nerve/muscle pain in the same place sometimes). But really if yuo are even slightly concerned just give them a call at the hospital/your midwife because they've heard it all before, know all the asnwers we don't on yahoo and are super nice to nervous mums - its their job! Good luck with baby # 2!

Contractions feel like very sharp period cramps. I didn't think I would know, but trust me, you know. You can tell because they come in and out, and it is consistent. (i.e 10 minutes apart, then 8 minutes, etc.) Maybe you pulled a muscle, or are having pains from carrying the extra weight. You can call your doctor, and see if he thinks you should come in or not.

I'd say someone is moving into position to come see you. I don't think you're in labor yet. That will be more in your belly or lower back.
