How does this explain anything?

"that thought, where did it come from. your sight where did it come from, your hearing where did it come from, your voice where did it come from, your feeling where did it come from, your sun your moon your water your air....There is a GOD. if you can't create those things, and you are born with them...someone in a higher power did that for your own comfort."

How can whoever made this comment be so sure that God created these things? Does this make no sense to anyone else? Isn't this faulty reasoning? I personally believe that the Lochness Monster created it all. Prove me wrong.

Update:

Iabella, prove to me that it is god. I told you that I thought it was the Lochness Monster, and that is just as legitimate of an argument as what you say.

Update 2:

Quote was courtesy of Iabella

Update 3:

I like people who try to put the burden of proof on the people who actually try to figure things out, instead of it being on people who make things up and then say okay now prove it.

Update 4:

*doesn't exist

Update 5:

P.S. I am not an Athiest. I am merely a skeptic who treats logic as a friend

Well, first you would have to prove that there is a Lockness Monster.

Here follow this link and you will see why some things aren't always as they seem. Read the whole thing. It has some very good points. Also no I am not an atheist or any other religion for that matter. For what I believe I do not "put unto others" as a nice way of saying don't pester me with any religious questions regarding my beliefs. WHOOOO! Long breath. Anyways, Yes you have a very valid and good point as would anyone else.

Everyone knows you can't disprove something that doesn't exist. Everyone knows also that if something is said to be supernatural then you can rationalize any which way you want to, and make it fit in with anything that contradicts it with reason. If someone comes up with a rational reason why it can't be true: just point out that something supernatural doesn't have to be logical. The problem is that if there isn't a basis for determining what's real and what's not then whenever someone says something is supernatural then it would have to be assumed to be a possibility, and before you know it you have a million different supernatural claims as to how things work... and how do you sort out the liars?

Yes, it is faulty reasoning. The person has every right to believe it, though-- heck, I believe the same thing, but I admit it is a statement of opinion and faith, certainly not proof.

It comes out of a mindset that relies on personal agency rather than causation. It's statements like those that make me think that Pascal Boyer was right when he said that god belief was an accidental by-product of attributing any movement to predators by our early ancestors.

God doesn't need to be proven wrong or right. you prove that He isn't the creator. I believe the same thing. I don't need to know the the Lochness Monster created it all because i know it didn't.

Yes, it is faulty reasoning. There is zero evidence that anything supernatural exists, much less any evidence that anything that exists owes its existence to the supernatural.

I'd also like to clarify something since some people seem to have trouble understanding it when the fact is brought to their attention. When I say that there is "zero evidence" that anything supernatural exists, what I mean by that is: there is zero evidence. None. At all. Anywhere. Zero.

Clarity, what is your patent on the creation of humans?

(Okay, I'll break it down for you...btw, thanks for the thumbs down)

Say you believe the universe sprang into existence by a big explosion or humans evolved by way of paleoanthropology (look it up). Who created the big explosion? Who or what (do you believe) created these apes/neanderthals?

Who created your mother whom gave birth to you?

Who created sex to create your ancestors to create your grandparents to create your parents to create you?

Pre-existing matter and energy does not cut it, and therefore, scientists, evolutionists, and all the others have no patent on the truth of creation. To believe these conditions facilitated the process of human creation is absurd.

Well, can you prove that God did not create those things? Yep, you got it, it is FAITH. Whether or not the sodium and potassium pumps in your body are created and overseen by God, many peope know that what is spoken is the WORD. Where, exactly, did you get your quote from?

  • 1 decade ago

exactly. your logic cannot be proved wrong because it is constructed in such a way as to be both deniable and undeniable. And you can make arguments and explanations up along the way to suit your logic to whatever questions are posed of it.

    Nessie is a good monster.

    Not really visible, but good.
