    2:00 P.M.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology would like to inform the general public that the text message currently circulating in the Philippines about a prediction by a certain “US Geological Society” of a “magnitude 6.8 earthquake to hit Philippine Plates tonight”, purportedly issued by the “Hawaii State Emergency Preparedness Office” IS A HOAX. This hoax started the day after the Magnitude 7.9 China earthquake of May 12, 2008.

MANILA, Philippines -- An earthquake in the Philippines as an aftermath of the strong tremor that rocked China Monday is a "hoax" as no organization can predict the occurrence of such natural disaster, officials said Wednesday.

National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) Anthony Golez issued the statement after text messages circulated that the Philippines would be hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake Wednesday night.

when it comes to earthquakes, there had never been an invention or whatever that acurately predicts it.... so currently, even if it mentions that it is from the US geological society or whoever agency that could be... it is not true. so, it's definately a hoax. if circumstances match it... it is by chance.

but if it is bound to happen, it will happen. its nature... it is unpredictable... anyway, its almost may 15th... so its soon to expire... hahaha!

Yes, I also got that text message at exactly 5:15PM when I got home. But I ignored it for I am sure, GOD will not allow it. My country is already in bad situation... full of hungry and angry people, and with less hope of having comfortable place to stay during this rainy season.

GOD BLESS YOUR PEOPLE. GOD BLESS MOTHER EARTH, AMEN.
