is it true that philippines will have a 6.8 magnitude of earthquake tonight may 14,2007?

It is a hoax and earthquake warnings are listed as percent probabilities, with estimated magnitude ranges, and usually over a much longer period of time.

Nobody can exactly forecast an earthquake.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology would like to inform the general public that the text message currently circulating in the Philippines about a prediction by a certain “US Geological Society” of a “magnitude 6.8 earthquake to hit Philippine Plates tonight”, purportedly issued by the “Hawaii State Emergency Preparedness Office” IS A HOAX. This hoax started the day after the Magnitude 7.9 China earthquake of May 12, 2008.

I heard many people in the mall rumoring about this magnitude 6.8 earthquake then I also receive this text on my cellphone and my friends even called me! Others of my friends even send e-mail messages to me in my YM! I think it's true. It's better to be prepared than to spread this rumor and say that it's not true.

I didnt hear about it yet, but I know there is gonna be a 8.0 earthquake in Las Vegas June 28th when Manny Pacquiao knocks out David Diaz!

No one has ever successfully predicted an earthquake. I hope they continue to be wrong because that would be a powerful quake!
