Where would I find a cheap, secure bicycle storage solution for outside my house?
I want to cycle to work. Great idea, with local authorities pushing the 'green choice'. There's even bike lockers at my place of work. My problem is, I have no secure storage at home, except inside the house. I need a secure box of some kind, (because it's out in the weather AND would be out the front of my house). All I have managed to find is lockers that cost hundreds of pounds or 'anchors' to chain my bike to, leaving it on full view to would-be thieves and open to the elements.. Am I asking too much? I envisage a folded steel or moulded plastic box, just big enough to get my bike into, and lock a door or lid behind it.

Consider a decent folding bike from Bike Friday or Dahon or another good folding company. Bromptons are made In England. Giant has a folder
Many Apartment dwellers face this issue and go for the good folding bike.

Cheap and secure are two words that don't go together. Sure you could get a rubbermaid (plastic) storage shed/box big enough to store a bike in, but it will cost several hundred. A plastic box could be cut open in minutes. A metal box will cost you a bundle.
I would only leave the bike outside in the elements as an absolute last resort....locked or not, the weather will beat the crap out of your bike.
