when I finished the transaction there were couple of guys teasing me and laughing rudely, I feel insulted and humiliated...

tell me was that top I was wearing screams gay? I'm rather slender (5'7 f 105 lbs), and I'm in the closet

Update:

I'm sorry, but the top kind of does look a bit flamboyant. Don't worry about it. You will always face people like that. Just know that they're idiots. You also have to be careful about you wear. Because believe it or not, clothes do say a lot about a person. (I"m not vain. I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl) but you do have to be careful where you wear certain clothing.

there are probably only about 25 blokes in the world who could wear that top and get away with it. I think that shirt requires BIG muscles.

and on a skinny or slender bloke, would look more gay... but never mind that... those blokes are dkheads.

like others answered - come out of the closet and leave the top behind. It can forever be your coming-out story: the clothes in your closet made you leave it!

I got laughed at before... I was riding my bike and wearing moccasin boots... and then another time I was wearing them on my way into work ( at a record store at the time ) and got laughed at... I was painfully thin at the time and grew my hair long... and I'm tall... so I was a HUGE target to be considered gay even if I wore jeans and work boots... it's because of the stereotypes that people perpetuate... It never stopped me from being exactly how I wanted to be all my life... ( except I WAS still closeted...) I dressed like a total "metal head" in the 90s... actually... it was AFTER I came out that I started to dress more conservatively... partly because I had worn every outrageous thing there ever was... had my hair every possible "do"... , partly because as soon as I dressed "boring" I got more respect from sales people and potential employers.... and partly because, after I came out, I realized that guys are more attracted to guys that look that way...

my advice... wear what you want... come out before your lie turns into a double life... and be happy !!

The shirt owes its style to the classic French movie, "Jules and

Jim" about two closeted gays who "fall in love with the same

woman". The reason for their choice of love object is because

they want to be close to each other but can't admit it. the beach scenes show one of them (and/or others at a "cruisy" gay beach)

    wearing similar type shirt/bathing suit.

So they are right, sort of.

But if you like the shirt, **** what anyone thinks.

Being true to yourself if the most important step and neccesary

before you can be true to others.

And if teased, you are more than capable of turning the tables!

Ask them, "So you want a homosexual to do what?" very loudly

(so everyone can hear). Or ask (if you are confortable doing so)

"So your girlfriend won't put out again and you want a guy now?"

In other words, shovel back whatever crap they give you!

Use your own wisdom, you are only a victim or embarrassed IF YOU CONSENT!!!

And either way, be cool and true to yourself!!!

    Hugs. and peace.

  • The colors are fine. It's just the way the sleeves are and the fact that you were wearing it at night. The stripes are also kind of "Look at me! Look at me!" What kind of pants were you wearing? Did you converse with the cashier? All this put together would determine if your outfit was screaming "I'm in the closet."

    Hope I Helped!

Clothing no longer can play a part in telling if someone is straight or gay like the old stereotypes. If you like the shirt, wear it. They were just ignorant. Of course next time just drink a couple of those redbulls and go postal on them LOL

somehow I get a mental image of Jay and Silent bob in Clerks. Were they high, stupid and teenage shoplifters?

it's ok. I like that top. If anything it screams 'burglar' or 'french'

Straight guys wear pink you know. It's actually quite popular where I live.

I went down to the store in my slippers just now. You shouldn't give a f about clothes and what they 'say' they're just cover up.

seriously, don't listen to them they're asshols.

omg that is a ridiculiously cute shirt =)!

Who cares if they call you gay??

I know its kind of startling because ur not an open gay at the moment, but you can always show your pride even when ur hiding in the closet =)

One day there were these people who were in Target and I was with my best friend and they kept on screaming "GAY!!!"

    at me like some idiots.

Then I ran around Target screaming "STRAIGHT!!!" to them

I know it isn't right but put it this way.

If i were those people and the gay person calledme straight, id be all like wtf??? thts not tough and no good excuse to scream at me. Yeah im straight so???

So whatever, it makes them look like fools!

wear what you want. theres no dress code in life.

    hope this helped!<3

DONT freak out about it. It sounds like you dont even know those guys, so odds are that you will never really run into them anytime soon again anyway:). And you have to ignore other people's opinions, especially if your ever planning on coming out of the closet.

Best of luck! Dont let others get you down!

I think its a really cute shirt and i dont think it looks super gay it all depends on how you wear it. Anyways who gives a crap what people say if you feel good wearing your shirt than thats what matters.
