Would it be possible I'm beginning menopause or a coincidence that I am bleeding 2 wks after a Cortisone inj.?

I started cortisone injections (for bulging discs in my lumbar)in April and began my period early. I am still bleeding 14 days later and was told to see the GYN. I have an appt. but the Pain clinic says they dont believe the cortisone is causing this! Scared, nervous...

Yes, cortisone can cause the kind of bleeding you are having. I had an issue a few years ago where I had some breakthrough bleeding and when I told my gyn about it the first question she asked me was if the Pain Management doctor was using steroids on a regular basis to help control my pain issues. I told her I only had it injected one time. Then I asked why she asked that.

She said that sometimes steroids such as cortisone can cause irregular bleeding.

I would recommend going ahead and checking with your gyn to see what they say. If they confirm it is the steroid then ask her/him to write a letter to the Pain Management doctor explaining this.
