4 Year Old Who Won't Poop On Potty?
I have 4 year old twins boys. One uses the potty religiously. The other will use it to pee and once in a while poop, but it seems like he prefers to poop in his pants (even though as soon as he does he asks for it to be cleaned right away). I have tried sticker charts and other rewards. I am open to any suggestions you have to offer. I am so tired of cleaning poopy underpants.

I have posted the same answer to another question. Please go thru this. Don't worry, he will use the toilet some day, nobody remains in diapers forever.
I have gone through the same problem with my son who is 4 years 4 months old and he starting pooing in the toilet only last month!!! That is at the age of 4 years and 3 months. Till last month I was constantly worrying that my son was pooping in a pull up. When he wanted to go, he used to remove his pants, wear a pull up, finish his job and tell me to clean up. Nothing worked - rewards, even minor punishments. I even tried hiding his pull ups but then he would withhold for 3-4 days and develop constipation.
One day I went to a store and he found a toilet seat(one which would fit into the adult toilet) and said that he would use the toilet if I purchased that particular toilet seat. I didn't take his words seriously as there were already 4 unsuccessful potties and toilet seat models in our house. When I returned home, he was persistent. I decided to go back to the store and buy it. As soon as we returned home, he put the toilet seat on the toilet, sat on it and pooped!!! I don't know what exactly happened...he might have seen the same toilet seat at a friend's place and seen his friend use it. I didn't pester him with questions. He is happy to use his new toilet seat now and I am happy that I don't have to purchase any more pull ups..

Breeders of toy dogs often make the mistake of raising the puppies in a large whelping box since the dogs are small and the waste is easily controlled. This can lead to housetraining difficulties. Larger-breed puppies are usually raised in a large room or outside, and the puppies learn at a young age that there is a place to eat and sleep, and a separate place to eliminate. Are you carrying him outside, or making him walk outside to potty? He should be leashed and walked just like a big dog is because if you pick him up, he'll learn to wait around to be picked up. Besides, walking usually stimulates the dog to eliminate. Set a timer and take him outside every 1-2 hours. If you have to, set a clock and get up during the night as well. If you keep him in a crate at night or when you have to leave the house for a few hours, the crate should only be big enough for him to stand up, turn around, and lie down in. It is easier to avoid mistakes than to discipline them, so you should supervise him well. Use baby gates to confine him to one or two rooms for the time being. If you notice any signs he is looking for a place to "go", lead him outside. You can keep a short lead attached to the collar for this purpose. If you actually do catch him eliminating in the house scoop him up immediately which will stop the flow, say "no!" and take him outside to finish his business.

I tried a lot of different incentives too with no luck. I eventually bought an ebook that gave me the strategies to get both my children potty trained, even at night. You can read my blog on my website:
Good luck!

Remind him often to go to the potty or just make him go and have him sit for awhile and maybe he will feel the urge to go. Also don't change him right away make him wait and explain to him you don't like cleaning it just like he doesn't like feeling it.
