I want to put my 5 year old daughter in an activity...?
I would like to put my daughter in some kind of sport, or activity in the afternoon. She is an only child, and i think this may help her become more structured. Any sugestions?

What does she enjoy doing? Is she a physically gifted child?
If not, I'd avoid team games - nothing puts a child off an activity faster than being worse at it than all the others - especially when her not being good at it affects the others.
Swimming is fun, she can do it at her own level, and also it's a useful life skill.
Lots of little girls like dancing. Mine hated it, so we took her skating instead. Now she's an ice dancer. Go figure :)
If you're looking for structure, how about martial arts? My son loves karate, and they get a real sense of achievement from passing their "belts".

Swimming, dancing, soccer, there are all kinds of pee wee things for little ones. The local Y probably has a summer team for pee wee sports, you may try that. Or even, if you want to spice it up a bit, the Y usually has karate too. A lot of people will not want to put their kids in karate, but, I'm putting my little girls in it for sure.

Cause she is an only child i would put her in drama to build her confidance and she will be able to speak to other kids and make friends easier.

What is she interested in? My 5 year old daughter enjoys gymnastics, soccer, ballet.
I would ask your daughter what she wants to do...

When my daughter turns five in June, I'm going to enroll her in cheerleading and dance. I guess you just have to find out what your daughter's interest are.

Gymnastics is great. Swimming class is very useful.
Check with your local YMCA. They have lots of classes for kids that age.
