Why are oreo cookie doublestuf's spelled doublestuf shouldn't it be doublestuffs?

    "doublestuff" would be the proper spelling, except that is not trademarkable, so they created a distinctive term which Nabisco can trademark and use exclusively. It's the same reason there are 2 "X's" in Exxon.

    You cannot trademark a word. Because, if you did, anytime someone printed the word they would have to pay royalties. So, they misspell it in order to get around it.

    But yes, it should be doublestuff

    I think it should be doublestuffed. But, who really cares. Just eat it and enjoy.
