What is the best odor remover to use on my carpet to get rid of Dog Urine ?
I am trying to find the BEST odor remover to use on my carpets to get rid of the smell of dog urine. My dog used to urinate all over my carpets until he got fixed now he is better but the odor is still in my carpets and I can't get it out. I have tried Nature's Miracle which a lot of people told me to use but it did nothing the odor is still there and you can also smell it in the air.

Everyone has different opinions on what works best... here is some that I have used and have found work
Vinegar and water, Oxi-clean and one that I got from the pet store called Out.

One of the answerers before me was right in saying that everyone has their own preferences for ridding carpet of odors. But one thing I have used before was vinegar; vinegar itself smells odd at first, but it usually works pretty well at killing the odor and even sometimes the stain. Also, I have had pretty good results by just using baking soda. Baking soda absorbs odors. All you need to do is sprinkle some over the source of the stain/odor, and let it sit on the stain/odor for a while. After the baking soda has sat there for a while and has absorbed the smell, then you can just use a vacuum to remove it from the carpet.
Best wishes!

I have heard good things about using vinegar and then baking soda, but I've never tried it. We've had the best luck with renting a Rug Doctor and cleaning the entire carpet, but I'm not sure if that's the best solution all the time, you know?
In my experience "Urine Gone" which can be bought at Linens 'n Things, Bed Bath and Beyond or even Target does the best job of eliminating both the stains and the odor when we've had to clean up urine.
We have a spot steamer that I use to suck up all of the urine when there's an accident, spray it liberally with "Urine Gone", and then just vacuum over it when it dries. I've even done a similar thing with old stains/odors. Spray them with hot water, suck up the excess with the spot steamer and spray with "Urine Gone". Let dry and vacuum.
I hope something we suggest helps!

I use Woolite with Oxygen cleaning carpet cleaner for pet odor. Its exceptionally potent and has done wonders to mask the odor from urine. I know the problem if you have more than on dog in the house is if one pees in the house they all do. This will keep that from happening.

This might seem weird, but it worked on cat urine for me. The ingredients are....... parsley...baking soda........baby powder......lemon juice
I finely chopped the parsley and soaked it in the lemon juice for a couple of hours - after straining the particles out of lemon juice I mixed the baking soda and baby powder with the lemon juice to create a paste........scrubbed the paste in using a hand held scrub brush.......I rinsed it out with a mixture of regular windex and lemon juice in a spray bottle and blotted it dry with a old but clean towel - depending on the dies of the carpet, I would test this in a spot to confirm it will not bleed.
I did this on a dark carpet and did not have any problems. You must also allow the mixture to seep through the carpet or pull it up to clean the underside, because if you only clean the top, the smell that's on the floor will seep through after a while, which is what you are experiencing now probably.

You need a NEUTRALIZER, not a deodorizer.
Read the label to see the product will neutralize pet odors, otherwise the dog will just go back to the same spot.
You can buy products that neutralize in pet stores and even in some supermarkets.

as a manner to rid the element of urine scent not purely to get it smelling spectacular, yet in addition to sidestep a revisit, use something which will smash down the urine compounds that provide off the "fragrance" to dogs. i exploit an isopropyl alcohol and citric acid based cleanser which is going great. the section smells untouched, and its sanitary.

I would use something that only cleans the spot but also takes out the scent of urine that the dog will smell even after cleaning.
Something like this product from PetSmart will remove the enzymes or pheromones that they can smell even after cleaning:
