Yes, she's a plus size model. The top agencies (Ford, Click, Wilhelmina, Elite, Next, et al)book plus size models starting at a size 8.

Just in case you forgot, models represent ideals, and plus size models, even if they are “big,” do that as well. Compared to the average plus size consumer, they are smaller – they just might be more photogenic and beautiful, and fit into more clothing, and be able to walk in five inch stilettos, too – but these are requirements for the job. They may only be a size 12, 14 or even 8 or 10, but compared to a straight size model who is 5'11" and a size 2, that is huge.

Plus size models ARE straight size models - only bigger, and what is wrong with that? Where is it written that plus size models need to look like your mom? Like your Aunt Betty? Like the plus size moms we see walking around the mall? Plus size models are not meant to prove that big women are gorgeous, sexy, worthy, etc. - they exist to sell products, period. People keep confusing modeling with building self-worth, and that is a lost cause. One thing has nothing to do with the other.

When ANTM first started? The sample size for model clothes was a size 6. So plus sized would be a 12 and up.

Today? On those "lollipops?" The sample size is anywhere from -2, -1, 0, 1, or a size 2. A size 2 on a 6 foot tall model!!!!!!

So if the SAMPLE SIZE is a 2? Then a plus sized model would be a size 8 and up.

Yes, technically, plus-sized models are supposed to be at least a size 12----but I do think that Whitney looks like a size 12....if she were a size 8, she would look like Cindy Crawford. I think she won because Tyra wanted a plus-sized girl to win. Anya proved herself more and deserved to win based on merit.

It is quite amazing, though, because Whitney was probably the first plus-sized girl to ever walk in a Versace show.

Yes, you are right. In a normal world, a size 8-10 is considered normal. Actually, the average woman is a size 12. But, in the fashion industry, an 8 or 10 is plus-sized!

It is retard that Anya lost to such a chunker. Tyra got her own shows and did specials on chubby chicks and I guess they wrote her letters till she finally caved in. She ain't modeling anymore, so he needs her money somehow...plus its the chubsters watching her show while chowing on a container of cake icing, while the model types are at the gym or doing sports and getting dates.

Whitney from ANTM does not look plus size to me but I guess plus size in the fashion world is a completely different game. I think in the "real world" plus size is size 18 and up. I could be wrong though and I am not trying to offend anybody.

Yeah, my mom said the same thing. I beleive Whiney (the winner) is just a regular looking girl. I beleive that is what the fashion industry needs finally!

Since the camera adds 10 lbs, I don't even think she is a 8-10. I would guess 5,6, or 7 AT THE MAX. She isnt plus sized, the term is full figured. And the modeling industry is nuts.

In the modeling industry, she is indeed a full-figured model. Of course she isn't in the real world, but the modeling industry's standards are much harsher and different.
