After all, there is a strong case to be made for the decorative arts of Egypt to be the basis of the decorative arts of the Greeks. There is a long history of interchange between the two. (reference the Ptolemaic dynasty)

Therefore it does not surprise me that you have reached this conclusion regarding Aesop's fables. We have no concrete evidence but it is plausible.
