Mini - Baccarat?

I was thinking of playing mini-baccarat for the first time, and I have a question: If one is playing and lets say one has lost several bets in a row, is is appropriate for one not to bet on several hands? Or, is one supposed to bet on each hand?

Thanks

It is quite common for players to sit out for one or more hands. It depends on the house rules whether they will allow a hand to be dealt without any bets (a free hand). I have been in casinos which will allow a few free hands per shoe, no free hands, or run the whole shoe.

If you are not permitted to have a free hand you can bet both sides for the table minimum. You have minimal exposure and you still get the hands dealt.

If there are other people at the table, you are certainly allowed to sit out a few hands if you wish. If you are the only player at the table, they will not deal the cards if you do not play, so you either have to bet or leave.
