.Why did Sen. Obama even said he didn't have enough experience to be CIC ?

I watched him in Illinois say "I promise to run my full term as senator before I think of running a presidential campaign. I feel I do not have enough experience to be a viable candidate"

3 months later after he came back from his 3 month book tour. he anounces he is running!

I find funny is on the congressional website, you can see how actual days he has put in office, (any senator)

He has in 3 years a total of 137 days as an active senator!!!!!

But, OK. Let's talk about experience. When G. W. Bush was elected president, he had been a weak governor of Texas for only 6 years. That was the whole extent of his successful political background.

The greatest president, Abe Lincoln, served four terms in the Illinois House and only one term in the US House before being elected president.

Washington himself, the second greatest president, has absolutely no national office experience (obviously) and served only in the Virgina House of Burgesses for a few terms.

On the other hand, Richard Nixon held every prior national office you can think of. He was in the House, Senate, and then VP for 8 years. I don't think I need to remind you what a disaster he was as president.

Thus, experience in national office - simply getting elected to the seat and holding it for x number of years - means absolutely nothing.

Yes. 4 years in the US Senate is more than enough. You forget that Obama also served seven years in the Illinois State Senate.

OTOH, I am from Arizona. John McCain is our senator, and before that, he was in the House from Phoenix. McCain brags that he has never made a single earmark for the people of Arizona. Now we also find that McCain is the number one most absent senator in 2008. Even Tim Johnson, who had a stoke, manages to show up and vote more often than McCain does.

What has McCain ever done for the people of Arizona besides cash his senate paycheck? He sure doesn't get us any federal money and he is proud of that fact. Will he do the same half-a** job as president? His track record says "absolutely."

Obama was caught off guard and accidentally told the truth, something that does not happen very often.

He did not say he was inexperienced. He said he is a believer that you should know what you are doing to go for the job. I believe once he got into the U S Senate, he realized he knew what to do and could run for president. He says it all the time, that if he did not know how to run our country he would not be running for president of the country. I still trust him, and believe he is the man for the job over the remaining publicized candidates.
