Worried and pregnant?

I have recently found out that i am 8 weeks pregnant and i am very worried because during the past 8 weeks i have been taking Vicodin and Tramadol for pain. I was in an accident about 11 years ago so i have had to take these meds, also about 10 years ago i have had no period at all so there was no way of me knowing. So i am very worried that all these meds are going to affect my baby in any way! Does anybody have any advice? Besides to stop taking the meds which i have already done.

I wouldnt worry too much, as "bad" as it sounds docs actually prescribe vicodin during pregnancy in some cases. So of course just talk to your doctor but im sure everything is ok! Just think when some women dont even find out there pregnant till 6 months or later...think of all the things they have done while being pregnant and not knowing it ya know??? I wouldnt stress too much and congrats on the baby! =)

Well, its time to see a doctor, but the umbilical cord doesn't actually attach to the baby to the mother until like 6-8 weeks. So I wouldn't worry. But go to your doc and ask what to take. There are some pills you can take while pregnant. Good luck and congrats!

Be careful and have your doc monitor you while you go off of your meds. If you have been taking vicodin for 11 years, chances are you may experience withdrawl symptoms and you want to make sure you and the baby are safe.

    good luck

You should talk to your doctor, they will be able to answer your question. And, if you havn't already gone to the doctor, you need to see one anyway. And start taking prenatal vitamins

    congrads and good luck

Really only time can tell, but talk to your doctor. They will run test to help ease your mind.

Make sure you are taking multivitamin with 800mcg of folic acid. I am sure you are okay!

Talk to your doctor, whoever is prescribing the pain killers - they will know best.

Honestly, the best thing you could do to calm your nerves is call your doctor/OBGYN and ask them.
