Do you think that the Cheesecake factory is overrated?
I think the ambiance looks great, enjoyable atmosphere. Even the Cheesecake which is the most important feature is good. I think the food is bland and has more ooh ahh look factor than taste factor. I know alot of people will be quick to say," it's not" but think about the actual taste and compare it to other restaurants.

very overrated. i've eaten there 3 times thinking that it was just a bad experience the times before. i won't go back. yes, the cheesecake is good but i can get the same thing out of the frozen foods section at the grocery store. the food is VERY lacking, especially for the price. i'll go elsewhere and get a good, HOT meal for a fraction of the cost. i rarely eat dessert so i'm not too concerned about that.

Cheesecake Factory is indeed, OVERRATED. Food is average. Menu is not the best.
Sources: I've been to Cheesecake Factory in Pasadena, Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks Gallery.

Yea you know I don't think the food is all that great either. Just the cheesecakes. I've had most of the pastas there and I'd say it's okay.... nothing special. My husband have had the steaks there and it's just not worth $30. Really, if you're willing to spend a $60 dinner and have OKAY food, this is the place to go...

I know whatcha mean. I'd rather go somewhere for the ooh ahh moment. Some of the food there like the pasta dishes you can make at home....let me tell you...mine is better!!! But I do buy there cheesecakes because I don't make desserts.

I think it's more over-priced than over-rated.
I used to go there a lot 10-15 years ago (mostly MdR & BevHills). Went again for the first time a few months ago (Pasadena) and the food was better than I remembered/anticipated but it cost way more than comparable meals at other nearby restaurants.

For what it is I think it's a pretty good restaurant. It's not claiming to be a fancy take your date out for a fancy meal restaurant. It's a restaurant, or rather a chain of restaurants that fits into the niche of restaurants that are above fast food, offers good salads, hamburgers and whatnot, and incredible desserts. It isn't trying to be anything that it isn't. That's why it's always so busy. You don't keep that many restaurants in that many cities that busy if you aren't doing something right. The food may not be up to the quality of a one star Michelin restaurant, but neither are the prices. If they weren't doing something right they would have started to close by now.

It's not about me going to get some food but to have that cheesecake! Never have I tasted something so wonderful and it's not even my birthday!

Actually I think their food is ok, sometimes good, but the service is very very slow. I stopped going there, got tired of waiting. It's not that the servers are slow, it's that they are understaffed.
Specially like the lettuce wraps.
But this is the Boston one.

I totally agree with you on the food. It's not all that great but the cheesecake is defiitely not overrated.
