Did Lewis Hamilton put in one of the best drives of his life in Turkey?

I would say easily yes.

Considering the high standards of F1 and the pressures involved it could very well have been his best.

But he'll soon better it, he's learning fast and that drive must have given him even more confidence.

Of course he was 15 seconds faster on the track he was carrying much less fuel for half the time.

The strategy Mclaren ran that day was one that has been used in the past by others, but to get from 2nd to 1st, Mclaren needed it to stay 2nd.

Ham was not as quick on the soft tyres and according to him Bridgestone warned mclaren not to run the soft tyres on Ham's setup through a 2 stop strategy, so it was left for the last stint after his splash and dash.

Raikkonen did the whole race without one of his front wing endplates, the effect was little, but if Mclaren had not run Hamilton on that strategy, Raikkonen would have closed in on Ham earlier, potentially taking 2nd place from Ham.

I dont see what was so special about Ham's race, even with the lighter fuel and the uncontested pass on Massa, he was nowhere near threatening the lead of the race, he was virtually fending off Raikkonen.

It probably was his best drive, but he didn't win did he? He was also a bit lucky. Had Raikkonen made a good start and was ahead of Kubica, he would have not been leap frogged by Hamilton.

Yes he drove a good one but I think that if everyone ran on a three stop strategy, they would all have been able to go all out instead of trying to conserve their tyres for a longer period.

Have to agree with Julian. I think he did a great drive, but it was definately top strategy/pit stops.

kimi got a good start but got cut off and lost all his time. hamilton i dont think is that good, he has some good races this being his best this year but he did better last year.

His pit crew put in one of the best strategies of the year.

He did well to split the Ferraris, but I'd rate his win in Japan last year as his best drive so far.

i am glad to see someone else in this culture less country (i am assuming you are from America) has a bit of culture as well. if i hear the word NASCAR one more time i think i might explode!!
