how do u know u're in love?

I am a married man who has been in a few relationships, so I will be the voice of experience.

The signs of always wanting to be with a person, that he/she is always in your thoughts, you can't get enough of them, etc. is not signs of love, but, rather, signs of infatuation. This is not a bad thing. Most relationships start out as infatuation as a person analyzes the good qualities that make up there interest. And this analyzation can lead to building the base that can lead to love.

Now love, on the other hand, is built on trust, respect, admiration, and desire for the other person, and it can take years to truly grow and develop. Love is the ability to not have to be with someone but knowing that you could not live another minute without them. Love is thinking of what will make him/her happy and knowing that at the same time, he/she is thinking the same thing. Love is the willingness to make sacrifices indefinitely for the benefit of your desire. Love is explicitly trusting the individual and supporting him/her whether you believe that it is the best decision or not. Love is not a burning desire, but, rather, a feeling of contentment and satisfaction, openly seeing and accepting the other person's faults and imperfections, and knowing that while there are other people who you think are cute and will make you take a long look, you will never give up the one you are with.

It's hard to tell. A lot of times people confuse love with lust, and feelings of passion and intensity as love. However, there is a distinct difference between when a person is in lust with someone or real love. If you've been with that person for only a little while, and have intense feelings for that person, it's probably just your sex drive. But if you've not only been friends with that person for a while, and you know their character, and you've been in a relationship with that person for a few months, and you love everything about that person and you can't get that person out of your mind and you would do anything for that person, you might be able to call it love. But true love is not fickle and is not something that can go away that easily. I know this because I am taken by the love of my life, and I don't think I will ever stop loving him. :)

you just know like deep down in your heart you know. It's like you love being with that person, he is the highlight of your day, you can't get enough of each other, he just makes you smile sometimes he doesn't even have to say anything all it takes is one look and you smile at him and you'll feel like your breath is taken away it's amazing trust me when you are in love you know because everything is just good with the world when you are with him.

I know I'm in Love because even though my boyfriend isn't perfect, I know he tries everyday to be better and he is, by far, my BEST FRIEND. I know everything he is going to say before he says it but it makes me laugh for days and most importantly, I want to have a little boy who is Exactly Like Him!!!!

sometimes love can be a bit confusing, coz u aren't sure if it's for real. sometimes u can just actually think u'r inlove and love the idea of being in love. maybe if u like a person despite everything bad about him and stuff. idk. chills, maybe goosebumps, butterflies and stuff

You listen to love songs, talk to him/her throughout the day, are with him/her majority of the day, have him/her heavily on your mind, constantly bring up him/her name in a conversation even when no one brought him/her up, have those intense butterflies, have myspace complete dedicated with him/her with pics/ listed as a hero/etc., talk about the future (marriage/kids), say the words "I love you" and actually mean it.

How do you differentiate a crush from love though? what everyones describing sounds like how i've felt about every guy i've ever liked :s

Love is confusing as heck. Every time you meet someone special, you go crazy about them and you can not get enough of them. Then you get your heartbroken and realize that they were never the one.

usually you are always wanting to be with them and they are always on your mind. When your just sitting there you find yourself smiling because your thinking about them. Umm.....that should be some signs.
