Increase in Military Equipment Movements Across the U.S.?

I have seen a 1000% increase in the amount of military equipment (tanks, apc's, hummers, etc.) going across the country on truck and rail. There has also been a dramatic increase in the number of exercises taking place at Nellis AFB and the Nellis Bomb and Gunnery Range. Does anyone know what is up? Are we surging supplies to a specific location for an upcoming operation?

Some of the military equipment you've seen is going in for depot repair at Barstow Marine Base and Fort Irwin. Some is equipment for Guard and Reserve units returning from down range. The air exercises at Nellis are a regular occurrence. There might be a slight uptick in tempo because some of our NATO allies have governments which contain ministry officials from the Green Party. So, there are more and more restrictions about training in European air space.

Could be that the home unit has returned to base after a tour. Or maybe a unit is preparing for deployment at the base. The military will ship the training stuff wherever they need it for training and with deployments going from all over the US the equipment moves around a lot.

Maybe that equipment is going to be fortified or maybe its going to be upgraded to meet the needs of todays warfare..

Maybe it was being shipped to a transport base..

Operations exist year round at Nellis and nearby ranges..

I doubt you keep tabs on every operation for you to say that you have seen a dramatic increase in operations in southern Nevada..

You are seeing al ot of this not becuase of an up coming mission, but becuase equipment that has been in Iraq and afganistan is being rotated out to get upgrades and to be overhauled while others that you see are being shipped over to replace what is coming back.

You also have the equipment of the returning and deploying units being shipped.

No..the military is taking the people who normally would not be involved in war games or combat training to be trained...because of the war a shortage of combat trained troops caught them off guard..so now they are making sure everyone is up to par.....I live near the Marine Corp. logistics base in Yermo and the equipment that has been coming in are for rotational troops that are going to Ft. Irwin..after their training they will be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan for troop rotations.

All this talk of us preparing to attack Iran is just that..talk.

Hmmm. IF it were real and not paranoia or previous lack of attention, then perhaps it wouldn't be a good idea to post it to the world.

During WWII and the Cold War, our enemies had to actually hire spies to collect such information.

I'm betting it's just normal movements that you just haven't noticed before.

I suspect that it is more a matter of perception.

Have you ever noticed how, after you buy a new car, you see them everywhere whereas you never noticed them before?

I believe that you have probably seen or heard something that made you take notice of these things.
