Are there any gay-friendly cities in VA?

I'm about to move to VA and am wondering which cities are more gay friendly.

Thank you!

well i live right on the TN/VA state line and i find there to be many gays in Abingdon and Bristol VA. if you make the short trip across the line and go into Johnson City, you will be much satisfied. Johnson City TN has to be the gay capital of the south, practically, lol. its only about a 20-30 minute trip. it may seem into the bible belt but its really not a bad place to be a gay :)

I'd say try to live as close to Washington DC as possible. In fact, if you can swing it, I'd say forget about even northern VA and just live in D.C. Dupont Circle is the neighborhood to be in. Awesome place, and right there or nearby are the best restaurants and clubs in the city (Adams Morgan section especially). Not everybody in VA is a Bible-thumping homophobic bigot, but the place has more than its share, I'm afraid.

    Frankly, I doubt it.

Clubs exist in Richmond, but I've never gone to any of them as I despise what must be the ugliest city on the planet.
