Why does the government charge us taxes?

I know the government pays for law enforcement, schools, roadss, etc. My question is, instead of charging us tax why can't they get the money somewhere else. Don't they use some sort of machines to make the money? Why can't they use those machines to get the money they need instead of making us pay taxes? Sources?

That is called printing money that has no value and eventually the country becomes flooded with useless money.

Here is an idea who's time has come as a way to reduce the tax burden on everyone.

I believe the oil companies need to be nationalized and the profits go back to the people in the form of lower taxes.Same with our communications systems.

Where I live in China as a transplanted American, both are nationalized and a gallon of gas costs about a buck less, and my cell phone bill is obscenely little. About $15 a month and I use it extensively.

Plus, I pay zero sales tax, and tax on a home is very small to non existent, plus I have no income tax, despite that I make considerably more then the average person.

There is a lot of revenue to be made off of both which gives the people more disposable income. A win for the government, a win for the people, a win for our economy. It will just pizzzz off the fat cats, one that some love to support, yet they don't give a rats behind about their supporters.

    Think about it.

I have 1 candy bar and 10 friends... each person gets 1/10 right? How much is would one person pay for that candy? I use my magic candy bar making machine to make 9 more candy bars. Each person can now get 1 bar each. Would these people still pay the same amount as before? No.

To anwser your question, the more of some thing you have, in this case money, the less the value of it. The dollar use to be the strongest monitary unit in the world. Now it falls behind the euro. If they print all that extra money, then they have to up the minumum wage and prices on everything.

They make the money the more they make the lower in value it becomes. When the US went away from the gold standard our money is only good faith money and basically is credit. the taxes would be lower of all of us if the fair tax bill would pass. you would be able to keep all your money from your pay.

you're startin to sound like a commie. The machines of industry are owned by a couple people and it's thier freedom to own lots of stuff. It is also suggested that the free market produces growth good for everyone, masters and servants.

If they printed their own money the value of our dollar would drop. it would be worse than taxation, far worse.
