You ever notice how religion and poilitics...?
You ever notice how discussing religion and politics just makes everyone involved look stupid and get angry? I mean, if you have a legitimit question like who was churchill or what lead to atheism in China, great, but when someone asks something that boils down to "athiests are dumb" or "democrats are dumb" it just waistes time and distracts from harder questions.
By all means, saying your dumb opinion is extremely important, its how all of the good ideas get raised to the top and the bad ones sink to the bottom, but thats what forums are for.

Those that say "oh, Atheists are dumb" (etc) obviously don't have a strong argument. Why is 'ABC' dumb? "Oh, just because"... We're all familiar with it. We may even be guilty of such nonsense. It drives me crazy though.
I enjoy arguing with faith-heads as an atheist as that is so often their genre of response.

Yes, it does. That's why they were forbidden in polite society; people get really hyped up about them.
Read the Guidelines for this site. Some of the stuff you cite are violaitons (the "Xs are dumb" type things).
Use Report It for all violations. The purpose of this site is for questions (real questions) and answers (informative, helpful answers). But it's up to those of us who get that to police the site. Otherwise the sludge takes over completely and there are few, if any real Qs & As.

people get all worked up just like they would if someone was putting them down in other ways!
go back to middle school, and thats how people get their opinions out, they either blurt them out or make themselves look good but putting someone else down.
politics and religion are also the most important to many people. so they are more apt to get offended or offend.
