Jared Allen and Trent Edwards went to my rival high school (Los Gatos), and Deltha O'Neal went to a nearby one as well (Milpitas). Tom Brady and Jeff Garcia also grew up in the general vicinity (bay area).

I've seen Alex Smith, Tony Parrish, Julian Peterson, and Fred Beasley all around the area at one point or another too, usually at either the mall or at blockbuster in the case of Alex Smith. Mike Shanahan and Mike Holmgren both also used to live in the town I grew up in, back when they were with the 9ers.

A few rookies from this years' draft are from Louisville and went to the University of Louisville:

- Well, my favorite, Brian Brohm (Green Bay).

We are so proud of him here. There are a ton of Packers fan here now. He went to high school at Trinity High, and then stayed home and played for U of L.

- Mario Urrutia (Cincinnati), also from U of L, went to Fern Creek High here in town.

From UK, Andre Woodson (New York Giants) is from Radcliff, Ky, a couple of hours away, and played Brohm in high school and college, of course.

Paul Hornung's, 1956 Heisman Winner, hometown is The Ville.

I know there are a lot of others, but those are the rookies I know of and a Heisman winner.

Really kelly? I live in bloomington and didn't know that. We don't have any pro football players in Bloomington MN but i went to high with the Brinkhouse brothers who are both linemen for U of M. And i went to grade school and high school with Cole Aldrich, the tall white guy that plays bball for Kansas

EDIT: you know Mark B I dont know how I forgot about Urlacher...he is on the other part of the state, he's from Lovington in the SE part and I'm in the NE part...but still he was on the news the whole week before the SB when they lost to the colts...then theres some recent draft picks but they haven't done a whole lot yet
