How fast do D1 subdivision RB's and WR's run? (40 yard dash times?)?

I saw a kid who goes to my school(top competitive in D1 Subdivision) who was about my size. I am a former very good speedy runningback and defensive back, and I think I could handle it if this kid could. I have a very strong upper body and wonder if maybe I should try out...

Bo Jackson's "World Class Speed" is a 4.2. Carnell Williams (of Auburn and now Tampa Bay) ran a 4.6 coming out of Etowah High School. So, there's your range, but vision, agility, power, and the ability to run through arm tackles will be other HUGE factors.

Fast RB's and WR's run a sub 4.45 second 40 yard dash. The ones that run slower than that and can compete at a D1 level are usually strong, are very talented in technique, and have a high football IQ.
