fruit bushes and spiders?

I have spiders in my fruit bushes (raspberry, red current and black current). Are they doing good by keeping other insects away? Or are they doing harm and should i try to get rid of them?

Spiders are your friends. They most definitely eat other bugs - bugs that eat your plants. Spiders don't eat plants. They are carnivorous.

I always hated spiders until I got into Master Gardeners. Then I found out that they are beneficial predators--in that they eat some of the pesky insects that suck the life out of your plants. They still give me the creeps, but I just leave them alone. Of course, if it were a black widow or a brown recluse I'd kill it in a heartbeat!

personally i feel that if any spiders take residence in any vegitation, that is a plus side. they would eat all the nasty green fly and stuff that try to munch on the vegitation.

Some form of precipitation- lol i had to say that.
