Do you need a garage/yard sale permit in Travis Co Austin TX?

I heard that you can have 2 garage sales a year then you need a permit....but when I try to find out info on how to get the permit, I hit a dead end.

Does anyone know the procedure to get a permit?

I'm writing this as I sit on hold to the permit office. So far it's been 14 minutes on hold...maybe you guys could answer quicker.

oh my god. I just spent over 42 minutes on hold without talking to anyone at the permit office. My phone died!

I want a job in the permit office, looks like they take lots of smoke breaks.

    I've never heard of that, it may be for organizations like churches and schools, but residential owners really don't need any permit.
