4-conductor 2.5mm TRS pinout?

on a 4-conductor 2.5mm TRS male jack, used in a phone headset, which conductors lead to which parts? the plug i'm curious about looks like this: http://www.infinitecables.com/images/connector_sm/...

Update:

the whole reason i want to know is so i can fix the headset. it's already broken, so i need to know which wires lead to where do i can fix it.

    i say take a pair of scissors, cut the darn wire, no more problem.
