Frederick Lee and Joseph Fraumeni were the first to recognise that the members of certain families are at increased risk of cancer (Li-Fraumeni syndrome).
The cancers associated with Li Fraumeni syndrome include sarcomas, adrenocortical carcinoma, leukaemia's, breast cancer, osteosarcoma, central nervous system tumours and others...
It is possible to have genetic testing on your children but will or could be expensive. It could also be inconclusive.
