i have tried to have a very well-rounded education, be polite and courteous - while acting on a conscious level, but my fight response is too fast and too exaggerated.

For example, i was mugged a few days ago. Without even thinking it, i attacked back. Luckily for both of us, neither the mugger nor I were injured. I am aware i might have been killed, but the response is instant. How can i manage it?

my good friend is getting treatment for a brain tumor in the US. His American Visa was for 10 years so he did not renew it before starting chemo. Now, he is in for the worst, and has pneumonia and other ailments caused by the treatment that prevent him from boarding a plane and going back to his country to renew it. Is there a way to renew a visa via consulate?

He is paying for his treatment by his own means and has bought a house to live in, so he is not living of the government in any way.

Both of my teens' (13 & 14) Social Studies, Chemistry and English grades are going downhill. They have been, up until now straight grade A students, I am a stay at home mom, they are not using drugs or have problems whatsoever (besides hitting adolescence). Both of them are in private school, and both my husband and I have talked long and hard to them about it, but it seems the only problems they have are,

1. They love playing soccer, since we are on a trust-trust basis, they have told us their homework was done, we allowed them to go play. Turns out they have not handed some of their investigations because they "forgot".

2. Luckily, they have me present to help whenever they want to, but (again, i trusted them they had prepared for them), the headmaster says they did not study for some of the tests.

Seeing their maturity, we tried to reason them into being responsible students. Is it time to take away privileges (Wii, iPods, soccer and such)?

Help me make a right decision, please.
