Yes, they lower the price, If they have what you want? color and lay out, options. you might have to take what they have. if I was looking at just the one I wanted now!, prices are already low and they are really trying to sell this years inventory, so you would get a pretty good deal now, but to answer your question again YES it is true.

Prices may or may not go down. What often happens is the manufacturer will give rebates on purchases. That has already started with some companies.

You may see a $500-30000 rebate offered. The later in the year, the higher the rebate. The problem is, the selection goes down as well.

The Tahoe is a very popular truck but in my area you can get cash back or a 0% interest loan.

I would hold off til mid September because I think you'll get a better deal, but not much longer. They're already starting to push them out.

=== the best timeto buy any car is the last day of January === FACT .... If you want the 10 Tahoe buy it before it is gone -- dealers are will to discount any time == you have to get tough with them to get the price low down .... not true .. this Sept the price won't drop because the dealers are facing a sales slump and cannot afford to lower the sticker ..... you can get the deal with voicing that you are paying cash == get the loan at your bank and that is cash to the dealer == then ask the dealer to ++ "" DRAFT the TITLE"" ++ to your loan officer (( no doubt the dealer will call the banker == so you need to present his card at the end of the sale)) -- do not give away all of what you have in info about this deal ==========and remember the car dealer and his force are not your friends -- they are after the most dollars they can get out of you....

ONE other thing about buying in late DEC is that dealers have quotas to meet, if they need to move a few to make their quota then they will sometimes cut a better deal. I know the bottom line is they will squeeze every dime they can from you not matter what day or month it is, so be firm, I walked out of a dodge dealers place three times in two weeks and finally made what I thought was a good deal.
