Food for thought? Why is tobacco the father of all evil nowadays when/if you get sick from it it is only you?
(let's rule out 'secondhand smoke') that will when Alcohol is responsible for twice as many deaths and perhaps culprit of many familiar and social problems.
I am not biased towards any but think about it - i have not heard of someone ramming his car into another after smoking a pack of cigarettes.

America was founded on principles of personal liberty. In the past few years, people have confused personal responsibility with personal liberty and have decided to destroy the latter and force the first.
Personally, I think smoking is a disgusting habit. But to the stressed out dad working two jobs, its probably far better to go out back and take a smoke than to let the stress build until he smacks around his family. I may have no purpose for the cigarettes, but other people have found reason or need to do so and they should be allowed to.
So long as it does not hurt other people, then it should be allowed.
And second hand smoke is not forceful hurting of other people. There are many public smoking bans (Perfectly fine with these). However, if the government attempts to ban smoking on private property, than this is inappropriate. People choose to be in a restaurant where smoking is allowed. If you don't like it, go across the street to the restaurant that says no to smoking.
I do believe that smoking in front of kids, who really have zero choice in the matter is wrong. This is an infringement on the rights of the child. However, smoking itself should not be illegal.

Good question. I think the whole 2nd hand smoke issue is just another tool for anti-smokers to use in their quest for a smoke-free society. Personally, as a smoker, I know smoking is bad for me and has affected my health. However it's my choice to smoke. Yet others seem to think I'm a bad person because I smoke. Smokers are portrayed as being poor, dirty and lacking in education. Unfortunately nicotine addiction is not biased towards any particular group. In essence it comes down to one group thinking their "right" and want to take away the rights of another group. Sounds a lot like, yes, DISCRIMINATION!

is this your "attack liberals for the day" question? because of the fact i do no longer probably see a query there. you have already provided us with the info you have self assurance are authentic and clearly are not drawn to a rational answer. 2 rational factors. One, the tobacco marketplace might might desire to flow to war with the alcohol marketplace to get marijuana legalized. The alcohol lobby, alongside with the DEA and the prepared crime that makes its funds from protecting it unlawful, are those combating it now. 2, i does no longer purchase it from cigarette companies the two. i purchase my tobacco in bulk and roll my very own. it would be user-friendly to do an identical concern with marijuana. So if any liberal is suggesting giving it to the tobacco companies, an theory by skill of how that I even have heard precisely 0 approximately, it incredibly is because of the fact they understand the certainty of attempting to get something legalized that this variety of great form of individuals are incomes funds off of on account that's illegitimate.
