Actually, if a spouse is out giving campaign speechs and interviews.

They are fair game, to be critised for what they say.

If you cannot take the heat, stay out of the campaign,

    And keep your mouth shut.

Now spouses shouldn't have to submit to the intrusive media pressure that the spouse who is running does.

But if they give speechs, then they are fair game to be critised for what they say in the speechs.

It is not "okay" for the media to do that, but they do because we let them get away with it. What a good thing it is that some people have the courage to say they don't like or approve of it.

Different presidential races define different things that are fair game to criticize depending on the people's views. People may not want to see the presidential candidate's spouse spoken about when they see the issues as so important... (my opinion)

    Neither one is OK.

I am truly shocked by how many people here think that it's OK to attack someone's family because you disagree with him or her. Barbarians.

Obama wants to be essentially untouchable - he has pretty much dictated the rules for his campaign - you can't discuss his race, religion, former associates, and now, his wife.

I can't wait until he debates McCain in the three presidential debates - it won't be pretty.

What do you mean not ok--she's been attacked for supposedly being unpatriotic, angry, ugly, mean (or another word), elitist, and "uppity."
