childrens book "who stole the apple"?

Does anyone remember this book? I am trying to buy a copy of it for my niece and nephew but it doesn't seem to be available to buy any longer. Does anyone have any ideas on where to find hard to find childrens books?

Update:

No, its close but it is not apples plural. Its about an apple that goes missing from a window sill and there is a strange man with a beard and sunglasses that seems to have taken it....I remember only various details as I was young when I read it!

Update 2:

I actually found out that is it "who Has the Apple" and was able to find it through Amazon. So much for my memory!
