Rephrased: How secure is it to recieve actual bank account statement PDF's on free email a/c?
While Banks provide a "Secure area to view in THEIR website"
My employer wants to switch to paperless and send PDF's and word docs of Paystubs and other employment related stuff to my "free e-mail account (yahoo/gmail).
Is this safe? I have been reading about google never deleting stuff and reading emails, and other privacy issues.

never send this type of info to free email accounts (i would send them to any personally)...hotmail, gmail, etc are prime targets for hackers. they've been broken into more than any other type of web service...why because it's hard to plug all the possible security holes. email is the biggest source of viruses, etc than anything on the 'net. the issue is not with the email service provider but with being hacked.

not cool ... i use online banking and their site to view statement and such ... i would never let it travel to my mail ... can be intercepted ... ....no way!!!
