Shaving razor allowed in carry-on?

Question

These days TSA is allowing passengers to take one Quart size ziplock baggie each in the carry-on bag, in which one can take travel size packs of toothpaste, shaving gel etc etc etc. Does anybody know if they allow a shaving razor in that baggie? I dont want to check-in my bag just for the sake of a shaving razor! I would rather buy a new one from walgreens wherever I go... but it would be nice to be able to carry my own with me for the times when I reach the destination late at night and no stores are open.

An electric shaver may be in your carry on luggage.

If you use a razor blade type.......do not put it in your carry on.  If you are staying at a hotel, just ask when you check in for a razor and some shaving cream.

I think a disposable shaver can be carried on board.  If not, the worst that could happen is that they will confiscate it and you have to buy another one in the pharmacy when you arrive at the other end.  Or, take your favorite shaver without the blades, like a Mach Turbo whatever, and just buy some razor blades for it when you arrive.

Disposable razors and electric shavers are both allowed in carry-on luggage, according to the TSA.

Last time we flew we were told we could only take electric razors in hand luggage. Normal razors are not permitted past security because they are classified as sharp objects and can be used as a weapon on board. All sharp objects have to be in the hold luggage, not accessible during the flight,

Go to this website. It has everything spelled out in black and white what you can and cannot take should and should not. This site was my saviour last year when we went to Japan.
