For People Seeking God and Chritians?

For those of you seeking God. God is not just going to appear and say "Hear I am"! To find God, you have to look for God. You have to study the bible, go to church, pray. Seek him and you will find him but you have to meet him half way. A lot of people are lazy and that's why they never find God. If you never spent time with your husband/wife, communicated with them, whould you have a strong relationship? No. Same thing for God, it's a daily relationship you have to work at.

Chritian is a word used too loosley. Everybody who believes in God says, I'm a christian. But remember that even demons believe in God. Many people say they are christian but they do everything non-christians do. That's why christianity has such a bad name, because of these people. Don't believe someone is a chrisitan by what they say but by what they DO. Being a christian is hard! If it is easy for you to be a christian then you are most likely not one.

BTW. I know this isn't a question, God bless

Update:

Don't you think being curious of God is God pursuing us?

You are EXACTLY right. Unfortunately I think the people needing this the most are likely going to read it and move on. It's so easy to get appreciation for using the name, Christian, without actually doing anything to BE one. If you keep this up you may become as despised as I am by them.

It does seem to me that they have trouble with the commandments. Especially the Sabbath. The Bible says that understanding is given with obedience.

Psa 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

He isn't just going to appear and say "here I am"? Why not? The Bible portrays him doing that all the time. What has changed since then? I don't have to work hard at all for evidence of my significant other's existence. That seems to be a poor analogy. Is the admitted fact that Christians act just as good or bad as non-Christians evidence that the "Holy Spirit" that is supposed to help you to be consistently better than us does not exist? Good or bad actions seem to have little correlation to doctrinal beliefs.

Before you accuse me of having a closed mind, know that I have read the Bible (the New Testament in particular) quite carefully, and also have believed in God and Jesus Christ as savior before.

God gets a hold of people in many different ways. For me he came to me in a dream and shown me that he was Jesus Christ. Yet, I went to a church that believed in Jesus Christ, so I searched within my church. You are correct that not every religion that claims the name of Jesus is a part of his true body.

Then the Lord led me 5 years after the dream to a man who talked about Jesus all the time and who taught me who he was. I gave my heart completely to Jesus after meeting this man and now I too have come to know and understand Jesus Christ.

I do not agree that the Christain walk is difficult. It can be if we always think about the temptations around us, but if we just focus on Jesus and his goodness and enjoy what we have now, being a disciple of Christ is easy and a joy.

He has blessed us with things to enjoy life and to do it abundantly. I know my God and his mercies and I will never exchange his joy for temperal earthy things.

    Bless you.

"You have to study the bible, go to church, pray. "

I did all that, and much more.

But now I'm an ex-Christian atheist.

It was exactly in studying the bible, because I weas teaching it and wanted only to teach that which was true, that I found the reasons not be a Christian.

And in no way was I lazy or half-hearted about my belief.

But I can only believe what I can take to be true, and I can no longer place Christianity in that category. Once, I did.

Well said. There have been many times through my journey of faith that I have stumbled, and chose to ask God for help. It is when you refuse to change, that you refuse to grow. Blessings!

God reached down and grabbed me by my short-hairs. It was like He said "Little girl come here".

***God works in anyway you need Him to. He met me more than 1/2 way.

YES! thank you for posting this "question"

the thing with being a living sacrifice is you surrender 100% and He gives you 110% back. its not by works, its by grace, though your actions prove who you are. because we are evil, so no good can come out of us unless we become vessels for His love.
