I just asked the exact same question yesterday (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjsXJ... ), lol.
I think it's pretty cool. But No Dirt (Jay Argentina) brought up a good point in his answer to my question: the puck might not react the same. While you can skate on it, I think the puck will bounce around too much. When you skate, there is the weight of your body pushing down on the skate, pushing the skate into the surface, which makes it more like ice. But the puck is light, and I think it might end up bouncing around too much.

I've actually skated on it before and I hated it. It doesn't feel like real ice, and it's like digusting feeling. I was also in figure skates and I don't know how to skate in figure skates because of the toe pick or whatever, but it made me mad. I hope they never do this.

Thats crazy cool. I wonder what it feels like to skate on.
I doubt it'll ever catch on in Canada & The US though.

Pretty cool, but wouldn't your skates mark up the surface, and can you do a regular stop on it?

Penguins might like them...but they have been around for years and the real pros don't like the stuff other than to do stationary strength training on.
