Some of what is now Israel already belonged to the Jews. Other parts of the land were purchased from the Palestinians. Because Israel was the ancestral land of the Jews, where they originated, and because many Jews were already living there, and because Jerusalem is the holy city of the Jews, it seemed the obvious place for Jews to create a homeland.

The Zioonist movement, which began in the late 19th century, was centered on Palestine, since that was roughly the area promised to Abraham in Genesis.
Uganda was briefly considered as a homeland for the Jews, but the Bible won.

I think, I'm not sure, when the Jewish people came out of the Holocaust, they pushed people that lived there currently in Israel to nearby places to make room for the victims of the holocaust. This made people very hostile and often angry that this happened to them.

They wanted Israel.
After WWII many jews left the concentration camps and the lands that they had lived in. As refugees they went to other countires. but they also happened to stay in Palestine.... they didnt want to leave when they wanted to kick them out the jews wouldnt leave. that is why they dont really like each other

well its the only place we are strongly related to.
when praying we say "next year in jerusalem".
this was prayed by jews throughout history.
at the early zionism, we were offered Uganda, but the jewish conference voted for israel.
and a small joke:
when god talked to Abraham, he asked him - what country would you like?"
Abraham wanted to say Canada. but he didnt speak so well so he said "C....CCC....C.." and god said "oh you mean Kna'an! you got it!".

That area was the NEW YORK CITY of its day. This location was the best of the best for what God had promised them.

It was promised to us. it has ALWAYS been our homeland. even when not many jews lived there, it was our homeland. when the messiah comes, every single jew will go there and we will live there forever.
