Can we stop young people wearing hoodies?
I wondered if this would be possible if everyone over the age of 40 started wearing hoodies and hanging around on street corners, shopping centres and benches. Wouldn't that stop them wearing hoodies? It would be funny wouldn't it?
Also, would the yoofs then retreat indoors, put on slippers and start watching Countdown?

So all the over 40s do is stay indoors wearing slippers and watching Countdown. No I don't do any of those and I'm well over 40. What I do though is wear a hoodie, all the family do, not matching of course, they are practical items of clothing not a badge of hooliganism.

Oh come on, I'm 18, I wear hoodies and I still watch Countdown! Keith Olbermann is my hero. :[
But anyway. I'm sure it would work! Somehow a part of having fun as a teen involves making the generation gap as big as possible. Making the older people ask about things and being all like "What? You never heard of this?" I don't know why I enjoy it so much, but scaring adults gives me a thrill, hehe.

I live in New York and almost everyone wears hoodies on certain days as it is windy and cold most of the year. You need to wear a hood on many days or you will get an ear ache or wind burn. It serves a great purpose by concealing the warmth of your body in your neck, shoulders, head and ears as you walk windy streets or wait on cold train platforms, or in the rain, or at a snowy bus stop. Maybe you should wonder why you tend to judge people and society around you at a whole on their appearance and choice of clothes.

I doubt it! Also not all people who wear hoodies hang around street corners and make a menace of themselves! It's not the clothes that makes the person!

Do people over 40 not wear hoodies? Seems like everyone wears hoodies. They are comfortable and convenient.

What is the big deal with people wearing hoodies, it is just clothing. Also not all people that wear hoodies are out to cause trouble.

I am a perfectly respectable late 20's female with nearly 2 degrees, holding down a good job, never committed a crime. I wear hoodies! They are practical.

I like hoodies (I'm 20), and I'd wear hoodies regardless of who didn't or did wear them. They're just comfortable and warm. :)
