Nick has a car accident to remember n Y&R!

While dinning with Nikki and David at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Phyllis learns Nick has been in a car accident. “The police call Phyllis on her cell phone,” sets up her portrayer, Michelle Stafford. “Of course, the news is shocking and disturbing.”

But unlike the horrifying plane crash last year that erased the prior two years of Nick’s life, this time, Nick isn’t badly hurt. “He just has some scratches and hit his head,” says Stafford. “But when they see him [at the hospital], Nick is acting kind of cool towards Phyllis.”

That’s because his lost memories are rushing back. “Nick is having this total recall,” explains Joshua Morrow (Nick). “The gaps in his memory are all of a sudden filling in. He remembers Cassie in the hospital, her dying, him chasing down Daniel. All these things he forgot are hitting him at once.”

At first, Nick keeps mum about the miracle. “It’s hard for him because it hits so fast that he doesn’t know how to handle it,” says Morrow. “There’s a lot for him to process.”

His aloof behavior throws Phyllis into a quiet panic. “She always worried that he’s going to forget their relationship because it happed before,” sighs Stafford. “So she’s thinking, ‘Oh, my God, he doesn’t remember me.’ But she doesn’t voice this.”

In fact, the person Nick desperately wants to reach out to isn’t his wife. “He tells Phyllis that she can leave, then Victor gives him a ride home,” says Morrow. “On the way home, he calls Sharon. She is the only person he feels comfortable to talk to about this because she as in the Cassie situation with him.”

Sharon is surprised to hear from her ex. “She’s at GCAC with Jack when Nick calls to tell her he’s been in an accident,” picks up Sharon Case (Sharon). “He assures her that he’s fine, but he says he wants to talk to her at his house. Jack tells her to go, so she tells Nick that she’ll be right over.”

When Sharon arrives, Nick opens up, “He tells her that he remembers Cassie’s death and the affair with Phyllis,” says Morrow, “but he’s not really breaking down about it. He’s more numb. It hasn’t really sunk in.”

Nick apologizes to Sharon for the pain he’s caused. “He takes her hand while he’s talking to her,” smiles Case. “It’s very sweet. He’s genuinely sorry and that really touches Sharon.”

On the third anniversary of Cassie’s death, Nick refused to visit his daughter’s grave because he couldn’t remember her passing. Now, he wants Sharon to take him there. “They go to her gravesite and it’s very hard on Nick,” points out Morrow. “He always knew what happened because people told him, but now he’s experiencing it. He has to relive Cassie’s death again because he remembers how hopeless he felt when his daughter was dying in front of him and he couldn’t do anything to save her. He remembers being at her funeral. It’s a terrible thing to have to go through again.”

Nick also feels crushing guilt because he was the one who allowed Cassie to go out that tragic night. “Sharon and Nick feel the loss of their daughter together,” says Case. “It’s a very emotional scene.”

Nick returns home to Phyllis, who is still on edge. He finally explains what’s been going on. “Of course, she feels bad for him because he’s remember Cassie’s death again,” notes Stafford. “But he’s still not saying that he loves Phyllis.”

Then he does. “He says, ‘I’m a better man for being with you and I love you,’” smiles Stafford. “So she’s relieved and happy that he has his memory back, but she’s also sad because he’s in pain again.”

So what will this development mean for Nick? “I think on some level it will affect every relationship he has,” theorizes Morrow. “Now that he has his memory back, I think it will influence his work, his marriage and his relationship with his ex-wife. Now he has feelings with his memories. There’s so much more weight now. It will make him a much more interesting person.”

I would first like to correct the poster who said that Dru was on the plane....that is completly untrue. Dru fell over a cliff at a photo shoot and was never found.

Now, I don't know whats up with Nick and the crash, but my guess is that its a reason to regain his memory. He was sad today that he didn't remember the day of Cassie's death, and they spoke a lot of his memory loss, and then he was in a crash. So, the only reason I can think they did that was so he could hit his head and get his memory back. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

No, I'm curious what is going to come out of it.

Poor Nick! I hated that the show ended like that. Well maybe the crash will shake a couple of things up and he will get his memory back...

I will after I watch today's GLOBAL episode at 4:30.

The crash happened at the end of yesterday's GLOBAL episode which was today's CBS one.

I'll let you know more after I watch today's GLOBAL episode.

Nick is fine. The car is a wreck, but he is fine.

Saw the ending too....but I had read a spoiler that said he was going to be in a wreck....don't know anything else either

He will be fine and he will get ALL of his memory back and call Sharon. He is struggling b/c now he remembers Cassies death and has to live it over again, they go to her grave!

A few months ago he was in a plane wreck and lost his memory.

Maybe someone else who sees this question can fill in more of the story.

Dru was on the plane also and disappeared or was never found.

Lol no not another lost memorie again?Lol or maybe he will remember everything now?

OMG I'm getting sick of all his near death experiences but I hope he's ok.
